General Questions

Where do I start if I don't know exactly what I need?

Write to me with a description of the task or problem — even in general terms. On the first call (30–45 minutes) I'll help structure the requirements, determine what's realistic for the first version, and give a preliminary estimate. This is free.

Do you only work with clients from Russia?

No, I work with clients from any country. I communicate in Russian and English. My timezone is UTC+3, but I'm flexible with call scheduling.

What technology stack do you use?

Core stack: Laravel (PHP), React, Next.js, TypeScript, PostgreSQL. For DevOps — Docker, CI/CD on GitHub Actions. I can work with other technologies if the task requires it — I'll be upfront about that during our initial discussion.

How is the work process organized?

Typically: task discussion → estimate and proposal → agreement → iterative development (1 – 2 week sprints) → demo and revisions → launch. At every stage you know the status and see progress.

Development and MVP

How much does web application or MVP development cost?

Cost depends on complexity, number of roles, integrations, and business logic. An MVP is typically 3–5x cheaper than a full product with the right prioritization. After discussing the task I'll prepare a specific estimate.

Can we start without a technical specification?

Yes. If you only have an idea or a problem description, I'll help structure the requirements and define what's needed for the first version. Documentation is formed during the process — not required upfront.

How does an MVP differ from full development?

An MVP is about focus. We deliberately limit the scope: we take only the features needed to validate the core hypothesis. This isn't 'poor quality' — it's minimum features with maximum reliability for the user.

How long does development take?

MVP — usually 4–8 weeks. Web application from scratch — 2–4 months depending on scope. CRM or client portal — 6–12 weeks for the first working version. Exact timelines are determined after task decomposition.

What if the idea changes during development?

Small adjustments are normal. Development proceeds iteratively: every 1 – 2 weeks you see a working version and can course-correct. For larger scope changes we document them and assess the impact on timelines honestly and upfront.

Can development continue with you after the MVP?

Yes. After launch I'm ready to continue developing the product: add features, optimize, connect integrations. Or I can hand the project off to your team — code and documentation are prepared for that.

API Integrations and CRM

How long does a typical integration take?

A simple one-directional integration — 1–3 days. Complex bidirectional synchronizations or building a custom public API — 1 to 3 weeks. I'll give an exact estimate after reviewing the documentation.

What if the partner has no documentation or a difficult API?

It happens. I study the API's actual behavior through testing, engage with the partner's tech support when needed, and design the integration around real constraints.

Why is a custom CRM better than an off-the-shelf one (Bitrix24, amoCRM)?

Off-the-shelf CRMs are great for standard sales scenarios. A custom system is the right choice when you have non-standard processes, specific roles, or integrations that boxed solutions don't support — or when you're paying more for the ready-made system than your own would cost.

What happens if a partner's API changes after launch?

The adapter-based architecture is specifically designed for this: API changes are localized to one place in the code. Error alerts let you detect the problem before users notice it.

Technical Audit and Optimization

What do I need to provide for a technical audit?

Access to the repository and, if possible, read-only access to the server or staging environment. If you have architecture documentation or known issues — share those too. I sign an NDA if needed.

Will you make changes to the code during the audit?

No. An audit is purely analysis and assessment — no changes to code, configuration, or the database. If help with fixing is needed after the audit, that's a separate task.

How long does a technical audit take?

A small project (up to 50,000 lines of code) — 3–4 business days. A medium or large project — 5–7 days. A focused audit on one area (security, performance) — faster.

How much can a project be sped up after optimization?

Depends on the current state. With obvious problems (N+1 queries, missing indexes) gains can be multiplicative — 3–10x. If the project is already optimized — 20–50%. I'll give an honest answer after initial analysis.

Support and Long-Term Collaboration

How is payment organized — retainer or per task?

Both formats are available. Retainer — a fixed number of hours per month: convenient for regular work. Per-task — I estimate each task before starting: suitable when workload is variable.

How quickly do you respond to critical bugs?

For critical bugs (something broke in production, users can't complete a key action) — I respond during business hours within a few hours. Monitoring via Sentry and uptime alerts lets me detect problems independently.

Can you join an existing team?

Yes. I can work as an additional developer alongside your team: take part of the backlog, do code reviews, augment during high-load periods. We agree on areas of responsibility upfront.

What if there are very few tasks for a few months?

During quiet periods there's always enough to do: dependency updates, monitoring, refactoring problem areas, documentation. If activity is truly minimal, we switch to an on-demand format without a fixed volume.
